New Canon Americas Headquarters

Measuring more than 500 feet long and nearly 300 feet wide, the new headquarters for Canon Americas is currently under construction in Melville, N.Y. Reflecting Canon's strong commitment to environmental sustainability, "One Canon Park" is registered with the certification goal of LEED^® Certified Gold. The LEED green building certification program is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of green buildings.

The facility, which is situated on 52 acres, totals nearly 700,000 square feet and also includes two multilevel parking garages with covered walkways from the garages to the building. The grounds will have an open, campus-like feel with plenty of green space, a walking trail and two retention ponds. Within the five-story building (plus basement), employees will enjoy a state-of-the-art learning center, cafeteria and fitness center.

The construction of the building and relocation of the organization from its current site in Lake Success, N.Y., should provide a boost to the local economy, as new jobs are expected to be added at the headquarters facility as well as in the Melville area. Canon is looking forward to being a good corporate citizen within the community and will continue fostering relationships in the surrounding area. Target occupancy for the new headquarters is scheduled for 2013.
